Chapter 4 Scott’s Adventure
When Scott woke up, he found himself on a beach. To the north was Yarnne City; to the west was the Forest of Mystery; to the east was a boulder blocking the entrance to Brantu Forest; to the south was the ocean. Scott went into the city, and saw an enormous tree. To his surprise, the tree spoke to him! “Hi, I’m the Gindu Tree.” It said. “Whoa, you can Talk!” Scott shouted. “Pipe down!” said the Tree “Of course I can talk, I’m the Gindu Tree. Now I’ve got something to ask you. Yesterday, a shard flew into my mouth, and I can’t get it out! Will you get it out for me?” “Sure, I’ll get it.” said Scott. “But what’s in it for me?” “I’ll give you this wooden shield, and I’ll throw in this dagger too” said the tree. And with that, Scott entered the tree. Unfortunately for Scott, One of Gimeon’s minions heard about the shard in the tree, and entered before Scott. Inside of the tree seemed like a dungeon. Scott found a boomerang and a bow. Unfortunately, the bow had no arrows, so it proved useless. Near the end, Scott found Gimeon’s minion, a pig-human thing named Grunt. Grunt said he was looking for the shard, and accidentally told Scott about the power of the shards when formed into one. “I’ve got to stop Gimeon from getting the shards. I know, I’ll get all the shards. Then I can stop Gimeon.’’ Grunt had a sword and a shield, and he would dash around. With his shield he was impervious, so Scott let Grunt dash at him. At the last moment, Scott moved and Grunt crashed into the wall. His shield flew across the room and Scott was able to slash him. A few more hits like this and Grunt was defeated. A door opened, and Scott went inside. There he found the shard. Scott was instantly teleported out of the tree. “You’re trying to get all the shards. Well I know where the next one is, the Forest of Mystery.” Scott was about to enter the forest, when a salesman ran up to him. “If you’re going in there, you might want to buy this fireball. It can burn down trees that block the way.” said the salesman. “Okay, I’ll buy it” Scott said. The Forest of Mystery got its name because it was a very confusing forest. For example, if you go one way and then immediately go back, you’ll be in a different place, so it was quite some time before Scott found the Forest shrine where the tree said the shard was. Inside the shrine was like another dungeon. He found some bombs in a bag, and a credit card that said Discount Medicine Warehouse membership. The bombs were very useful; they could damage enemies and blast holes through some walls. At the end of the shrine, he found a very large beetle with a horned helmet. “I am the Herculean Beetle!” the creature shouted. “If you’re looking for the shard, you’re out of luck. I’m getting it. I defeated the shrine’s protector, Driaddon, and he’s probably way more powerful than you!” “Not likely!” Scott retorted. “Then face your DOOM!!!” The beetle was much more powerful than Grunt, and his helmet protected his only weak spot, his head. Scott tried to break the helmet with his dagger, but to no avail. Scott tried all his weapons, but none of them worked. Finally he grabbed a bomb. “I hope this works!” he said, as he threw it at the beetle. BOOM!!! When the smoke cleared, Scott saw that the beetle’s helmet was cracked. A few more bombs, at the helmet blew off. But now the beetle was twice as fast! Scott wondered if he did the right thing, but his success was confirmed when he slashed it and it let out a scream. A few more slashes, and the beetle was defeated. Scott walked into the door and found the second shard. He was instantly teleported out of the shrine, but when his feet touched the ground, a tornado picked him up, and he blacked out.
