Encounter at Oval Island

Oval Island is at the northern-most section of the Great Sea, but why do you need to go there?”  the tree asked Scott. “I have to find out what Shadowaxe meant,”  Scott replied. “I usually try to stay away from cryptic threats, but if you insist, I will lead you there.” “Thanks.” As they approached Oval Island , the waters turned dark. It reminded Scott of Greatwhale Island. “This place has bad news written all over it,” Gorvval said. As he landed on the island, Scott saw three figures standing in the darkness. Two of them were taller and bulky. The third one was normal size. He pointed his finger and the two bigger ones bowed. The smaller one ran off, followed by the two big ones. As soon as they were out of sight, Scott and Gorvval stepped out of the raft. The tree suddenly said, “I’ve got it! It all makes sense now! The Orbs, your grandfather, the cryptic threats, they all lead to this spot, Oval Island!” “What are you talking about?” Scott replied. “Not now. We have to place the Orbs in the pedestals.” The tree said. Scott saw a pedestal next to where he was standing. It had a red stripe painted on it. He walked over and placed the red Orb on the pedestal. Two tentacles came out of it and clamped the orb in place. Scott and Gorvval ran over to the western side of the island, where another pedestal stood. It had a green stripe. Scott placed the green Orb on it, and as before, the tentacles clamped it in place. At the northern end was the blue pedestal, and at the eastern end, the orange one. “This is too easy,” Scott thought to himself. As soon as they had placed the orange Orb, the orb shot out a beam of energy, which shot across the island and hit the green Orb. This Orb shot out two beams. One hit the red Orb, and one hit the blue one. They both shot out beams. One from each of them hit the orange Orb, and the other two met in the center of the island. Suddenly, a huge earthquake shook the island, and a huge tower rose out of the island. As soon as it stopped shaking, the beams disappeared. Scott ran to the tower, but he saw the three figures enter the tower. He and Gorvval ran toward the tower. As soon as they entered, hordes of monsters attacked them. Scott and Gorvval hacked their way through the monsters. When they reached the second floor, they saw the three figures standing in the middle of the room next to an inscription. The bigger two whipped around as Scott and Gorvval entered the room. Gorvval suddenly stopped then said, “Oromid? Blahhkven? I thought you were dead! What are you doing here?” “Shut up! We don’t take orders from you anymore. We serve the great and powerful, King Metamikau.” One of them said. “What are you talking about? Metamikau’s dead,” Scott said. “Oh really?” came a strange voice. The smaller figure whirled around and there stood King Metamikau. “I…I don’t understand,” Scott muttered. “Hah! You thought I was just a poor, defenseless man, didn’t you? I’m stronger than you might imagine. I’m coming to awaken a greater power. One that will help me rule this world! Oromid and Blahhkven decided to join me. What about you, Gorvval? These two have told me much about you. Will you join me?” “Never!” Gorvval growled. “Then die.” Metamikau rose into the air and shouted, “Taarmhein!” Gorvval rose and was pressed against the wall. “I could kill you at any moment. Care to rethink your answer?” “I’d rather die than serve a madman like you!” “That can be arranged.” Metamikau raised his wand and prepared to speak, when he suddenly screamed and clutched his hand. His wand fell to the ground, where Scott picked it up. Gorvval fell from the wall. Metamikau had a dagger sticking out of his hand. “Don’t just stand there you fools, kill them!” he shouted. Oromid and Blahhkven charged Gorvval and Scott. Scott pulled out his own wand and whispered, “Arrdones.” The ceiling exploded, leaving a huge crack. “Come on,” Scott said, “we can lose them.” Scott and Gorvval climbed the pile of rubble into the next floor. They raced about, trying to climb the tower without getting caught. As they reached the second to last floor, they ran out into a walkway. Oval Island looked so small below them. Oromid and Blahhkven caught up with them. “Go!” Gorvval shouted. “I’ll keep ‘em busy!” Scott raced up the stairs into the final room. Gorvval was stronger than Oromid and Blahhkven, but if they double teamed him, they might win. Metamikau was no longer a worry without his wand. Scott finally reached the top floor. He saw a huge figure imprinted on the wall. He heard a voice that said, “Who dares disturb the sanctity of the Tower of Light ? Prepare to face the untold wrath of Searrius!” The giant came loose from the wall and stepped into the room. He was as bright as the sun and burned with an unquenchable flame. Searrius was created by the Ancients to guard the Temple of Light . In a way, he was Shadowaxe’s brother. Searrius rushed at Scott full force. He spewed fire so hot, it hurt Scott to even be near it. The battle raged on. Scott tried every spell he could think of, but none would even faze the giant. Finally, he felt as if all hope was lost. Nothing could stop the unparallel light of this being. Nothing but unparallel darkness. Scott reached into his sack, which was very burnt, and pulled out the vial containing Shadowaxe’s blood. He opened it and threw it at the giant. Searrius screamed as its body was covered by shadows. Finally, it collapsed to the floor. It said, “You are a mighty warrior. Advance, and take the Spirit Medallion, but be warned of its power.” The door opened. In the room, there was a pedestal, but instead of a medallion on the pedestal, a sword was jammed into it. Scott slowly approached and pulled it out. In his hand, he held the sword that had banished the evil king all those years ago. The Legendary Sword. He suddenly remembered the battle with Metamikau and dashed back outside. Oromid and Blahhkven were dead. Gorvval was on the ground. Metamikau was standing over him, Scott’s dagger in his hand. Scott rushed over and, using his new sword, lopped off Metamikau’s hand. The hand, along with the dagger that Morkai had given Scott, plummeted down into the sea. Metamikau rushed at Scott and grabbed his wand. He backed up and shouted, “Enva du Requies!” A green bolt came out of Metamikau’s wand and headed toward Scott. Gorvval screamed, “No!” and jumped in front of Scott. The bolt hit Gorvval straight in the chest. Metamikau crumpled to the ground and whispered, “My duty is done.” Gorvval screamed and writhed on the ground. Scott asked, “What was that?!” “A death spell,” Gorvval replied. “What happened to Metamikau?” Scott asked. “The spell drained too much energy from him. He’s dead,” Gorvval replied. “Scott, you must go on. Metamikau is a bigger threat than you think.” “But he’s dead.” Scott replied. “Metamikau was not the enemy. There is a greater power, and Metamikau’s plan was a success.” Gorvval said. “But who? Who is it?” Scott asked. “Metamikau is not the enemy,” Gorvval said. “The enemy is…” Gorvval’s body fell limp on the ground. He was dead. Scott picked up the body, and placed it in the room where he fought Searrius. As he came outside, he saw a large stone and said, “Ashio Orog”. The stone lifted itself and was placed in front of the door. Scott carved into the stone, “Here lies Gorvval. An adventurer, a warrior, a friend.” As he left Oval Island, a maniacal laugh came over Blackcastle Island.
